The Project converts the main floor of a Heritage Building in the Winnipeg’s Exchange District to a restaurant/brewery. The existing heritage features of the building were conserved and highlighted including the plank wood floors, heavy timber columns & beams and exposed brick walls. Lighting is used to highlight the centre of the restaurant where the bar is located. Painted red canoes with suspended pendants are used to break up the space and accent elements in the space. The brewing equipment space is open and visually connected to the Restaurant through two existing picture frame openings in the brick. A separate lounge area with a gas fireplace is located in the corner to provide a more secluded area for patrons to relax in.
